Greetings and apologies

Greetings all. I must apologise for the lack of entries here recently. I have been very busry with the latest report on fibre production around the world. I can safely say this has been a year of trememdous growth globally - a large increase in production and in farmers involved. This is not without its challenges, of course, and we will try and address these as we move forward. I hope to post highlights of th report hre soon, but must wait for the official press release!
We are also hard at work preparing for the Organic Exchange annual conference in Porto next month, and are looking forward to meeting with the farm groups coming on the 13th and 14th and through the week. This will be an opportunity to look at what we can do together. For groups who cannot attend, we welcome comments and suggestions on emerging issues in advance.
We are also working on various guides/factsheets on farm related topics, the first of which, on soil fertility, will be published on this blog soon. We are also working on guides on pest management, composting and marketing and logistics for farm projects. These will be introductory guides, but we expect to have a working interactive online platform for questions, discussion and informaiton sharing to deepen these topics soon.

With that, many thanks to all of those who have been patiently sending in information and replying to questions on cotton production and farm system/rotation crops. Hopefully, this will all be worth it!

Simon
