A group of 32 boys and girls, children of organic cotton farmers of APAEM, from Lambayeque (North Coast of Peru), participated in the drawing competition "My organic cotton" organized by the RAAA in March 2009. This is to instill the knowledge of agroecology in children, incorporating ideas about an agriculture enviroment related and more socially sensitive, and that approach to ecological system, building respect true by nature, because nature sustains us, nourishes us and gives us life. The evaluation of the drawing was conducted in two stages. First in Lambayeque, were juries of competition Viviana Lopez (Organic Cotton Project of RAAA) and Alfonso Lizarraga of Organic Exchange (OE). The select 3 draws and finally evaluated as a second stage by an international jury of Organic Exchange: LaRhea Pepper, Senior Director (USA), Prabah Nagarajan, Regional Director of India, Silver Tovignan, Regional Director in Africa, Simon Ferrigno, Director of Farm Development Program (UK), and Liesl Truscot, Project Director of Farm Crops System (UK). This activity was sponsored by ICCO and Organic Exchange. The winners were Heyner Zena (8 years), second Yuri Zena (12 years), and third Jordan Ballena (11 years).
